DMCA Notice & Takedown Policy

Spoti.uk.com respects the rights of copyright holders. This page explains how to send a Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) takedown notice and how counter-notifications are handled.

Last updated: 25 April 2026

Overview

Spoti.uk.com complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, 17 U.S.C. § 512, and with comparable notice-and-takedown frameworks in other jurisdictions (including the EU Copyright Directive and the UK). We do not host a permanent catalog of recordings, but if a takedown notice identifies a specific work that the service surfaces or has cached, we will remove or disable access to that work expeditiously.

How to submit a takedown notice

Send written notice by email to [email protected] with the subject line DMCA Notice — [your work title]. Postal notices are not accepted.

To be effective under § 512(c)(3), your notice must include all of the following:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature as the copyright owner, or as a person authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work. The title, recording artist, album, ISRC if known, and any catalog or registration numbers. If multiple works are covered by a single notification, a representative list is acceptable.
  3. Identification of the allegedly infringing material. The exact Spotify track / album / playlist URL (or the corresponding Spotify track ID) that, when processed by Spoti.uk.com, results in the alleged infringement. Information reasonably sufficient to permit us to locate the material is required.
  4. Your contact information. Full legal name, mailing address, telephone number and email address at which we can reach you.
  5. A good-faith belief statement."I have a good-faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law."
  6. An accuracy and authority statement, under penalty of perjury. "The information in this notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, I am authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed."

Notices missing any of the elements above may not be actionable. Knowingly making material misrepresentations in a takedown notice can expose you to liability for damages under § 512(f).

What we do when we receive a valid notice

  • We verify the elements above and remove or disable the identified work from our cache and any active job queue, typically within 1–2 business days.
  • We add the affected Spotify track ID to a deny-list so subsequent requests for the same work return an unavailable response without fetching audio.
  • We log the notice (sender, work, date) for our records and for the repeat-infringer policy below.

Counter-notification

If you believe content was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notification under § 512(g)(3) by emailing the same address. Your counter-notification must include:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. Identification of the material that has been removed and the location at which it appeared before removal (the Spotify URL or track ID).
  3. A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  4. Your name, address, telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district in which your address is located (or if outside the US, of any judicial district in which Spoti.uk.com may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice or their agent.

Repeat-infringer policy

Although Spoti.uk.com does not require accounts, we maintain operational signals (IP, session token) that let us identify and rate-limit or block users who repeatedly attempt to infringe — for example, by repeatedly requesting works that have been the subject of valid takedown notices. We reserve the right to terminate access to the service for any such user without notice.
